How did Mom & Dad meet?
We actually ended up on the same tennis team. We both just started playing tennis and we were put on the same mixed tennis team. Then we were put together as tennis partners. We both are actually competitive but the first time I played with Gerald I turned around to him and told him ” I don’t like to lose so you better step it up!” Well later that night I got a phone call from a guy from my home town and he asked me if I was playing tennis now and I said yes. He said ” I knew that was you. I live with a guy named Gerald and he told me he played with a girl named Lindsey that was very competitive.” Small world but from then on out we have always played tennis together and we have met some very close friends. :)

What was the best, most surprising or most difficult thing being pregnant? ( Dad can answer, too)
Did you find out the gender beforehand? What were both Mom and Dad’s reactions.
Yes, we both started crying with excitement when we found out it was a girl because we already have a little boy. We told everyone by texting a picture out of our little boy that said “Yay! I am having a baby sister!”
List the possible baby names, and how you narrowed it down?
We used family names for both our children. We felt it would have more meaning to their name.

How did baby prep go? (Setting up the crib, decorating the nursery, buckling in the carseat,.)
Well I had been telling Gerald we needed to get stuff down from the attic and start getting stuff together but we kept putting it off. Well I started having contractions at 37 weeks and that weekend he was in the attic and had everything down and put together. HAHA

Was labor and delivery what you expected? If not, tell us how things were surprising or not what you expected.
No. I was scheduled for a section. I started having contractions a week before my section was scheduled so we went in to the hospital very early on a Thursday morning after calling my brother to come stay with my little boy. I sat there all morning and at 7:30 my Dr. Stopped by and said we are going to have a section today but it will be about two hours before we can get you in. Then he stopped by a couple minutes later and said well it looks like it will be about 30-45 minutes now, then he stopped by one more time and said we are about to take you back in about 10 minutes…….well my Gerald was in the cafeteria eating breakfast so when I called him he had to drop what he had and run to the room and made it just in time. They took us immediately back and Hayes was born. :)

Did baby look a lot like Mom, Dad or other siblings? Did you have fun with comparing baby photos?
Hayes looked just like her brother and her dad. A head full of dark hair. When we compared pictures of Hayes and McCain everyone said they look like twins. :) As soon as my Dr. Pulled her out he said “well Lindsey it’s another one that looks just like Gerald!”

You can even write a little bit about your baby’s newborn session if you’d like.
The newborn session was very relaxing and Destiny did EVERYTHING! It was great. Fighting my two year old to get in pictures with his sister had been tough at home so I was very nervous about that. After we walked in and he saw her airplane and he got his tractors Destiny really helped me not stress so bad. She was very patient with him and knew exactly what to do to get his attention to take pictures with his newborn sister.
