Growing up, I suppose, like most kids, that I assumed a picture was “just a picture.” We all had fun taking them but not necessarily being in them, and most of the time, they ended up in a drawer or on a thumb drive, never to be seen again. That was true until I had a family of my own. Three kiddos and an amazing husband later - a picture is no longer just a piece of paper. To me, a photograph is a cherished memory, an heirloom that links us to the past and reminds us that time is fleeting and how precious each gift is, and is something that I hold so dear to my heart.

Being a newborn and maternity photographer is so incredibly rewarding to me, and I feel so blessed. I get to love on newborns, play with toddlers, dote on the beauty of expectant mothers, and capture sweet memories for so many families. You should see these loving mommies (and some daddies, too!) who reach for the tissues as they view their little love’s photos on the screen for the first time. I’ve witnessed parents laugh and squeal in delight when they open their portrait orders of their children. Capturing their little miracles is genuinely one of my greatest treasures.

Originally from southern Alabama, my husband, Steven, and I now live in Brandon, MS, with our three beautiful children, Faith, Hope, and Hudson. We still have family in Orange Beach, AL, and love to visit the gulf regularly, but central Mississippi has been our official home since 2001. In 2008, Destiny Tillery Photography began offering in-home studio sessions and outdoor family photography. Seven years later, I succeeded in opening my one-of-a-kind, full-service studio in downtown Brandon, MS, enabling me to offer photography services in a way I couldn’t before. I am so thankful to be allowed to have a small sneak peek into the lives of those that trust me to capture these priceless moments for them - and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Today, Destiny Tillery Photography still offers the same exceptional photography services, both in-studio and on-location outdoors. We are proudly one of the only full-service photography experiences in the area, offering everything from access to our exclusive photography wardrobe to custom heirloom canvases and photo albums.

In 2019, I was called to create a trusted place where current and aspiring photographers can connect with other photographers and receive support, encouragement and mentorship to help grow their business. There are countless programs out there teaching you how to use a camera and edit photos. Still, there aren’t enough that teach you how to build a sustainable photography business. I’m thrilled to teach photographers how to implement time-tested business strategies that will provide measurable results and shorten the learning curve while ensuring you’re not spending unnecessary precious time away from your family.
