How did Mom & Dad meet?
We met when Tyler was 12. We were best friends for many years and started dating when Laci was a freshman at Ole Miss. as they say, the rest is history.

How did you tell family and friends you were expecting?
After we lost our last pregnancy, we decided to wait a little while to share the news of this pregnancy. One day while at work, Laci started experiencing symptoms that led her to believe she was losing this pregnancy as well. We contacted our family to let them know so they could share in this pregnancy at least one day. Thankfully, God had other plans for our precious Cooper and he is alive and well with us today.

What was the best, most surprising or most difficult thing being pregnant? ( Dad can answer, too)
I absolutely love being pregnant and it’s one of the most special and treasured times in my life. Even getting close to delivery I wanted him to stay put as long as he needed to.

Did you find out the gender beforehand? What were both Mom and Dad’s reactions.
Yes! With our first pregnancy Tyler and Laci decided to have the ultrasound tech write the gender on a piece of paper and place it in an envelope so we could find out the gender during a quiet moment together. While we were walking into the ultrasound room Tyler said “I can’t wait, I have to know now”. This is the man that purchases presents the week of Christmas so he doesn’t tell everyone what he bought them out of excitement! So for this pregnancy,Tyler promised we could find out how we had planned for our first pregnancy. We went to our appointment, they wrote the gender on a piece of paper, we went Tona restaurant afterward and found out our sweet baby was going to be another boy! We were thrilled!
Next came time to surprise his big brother, the avid sports fan. We gave him a golf ball that when hit would explode into a burst of color corresponding to the gender and a golf club, his driver. He hit the golf ball, it exploded into a big cloud of blue smoke ! We filmed it and sent it to family and friends to share that Colton was going to have a baby brother!

List the possible baby names, and how you narrowed it down?
Zachry Cooper Walker. We wanted to continue the “C” trend and we both liked Cooper. He is also named after his great grandfather William Zachry.

How did baby prep go? (Setting up the crib, decorating the nursery, buckling in the carseat,.)
This is embarrassing. I didn’t let myself actually believe this baby was coming until I held him so I didn’t want to set up anything until he came, I didn’t want to jinx it. I didn’t want to have a baby shower or make any big purchases, basically out of fear. I knew we had what he needed since he was our second boy and that he wouldn’t know he didn’t have a nursery set up when he got here! No regrets :)
My sweet coworkers (who are all neonatal nurses) gave me a baby shower anyways to make sure Cooper had things of his own as well. Tyler’s wonderful coworkers sent baby gifts to our house.

Was labor and delivery what you expected? If not, tell us how things were surprising or not what you expected.
This delivery was different from the first. I had a repeat c-section. It was a smoother process than laboring for 14 hours without progression and then having a c-section. I had a “dream team” of nurses and doctors and they made the process Very pleasant.

Did baby look a lot like Mom, Dad or other siblings? Did you have fun with comparing baby photos?
In ultrasounds this baby looked like his brother, who looks like his Mom. Since birth, we think he looks a lot like his Daddy.

What were Mom’s first thoughts when she saw her baby? And Dad?
Mom: He is here, he is alive, he is real and he is beautiful. It was magical.

Dad: Absolutely perfect.

What have the first few weeks at home with baby been like?
Absolutely wonderful but flying by with lightening speed!

We loved our newborn session! We enjoyed making friends with Destiny and hanging out in her beautiful studio. The pictures were even more beautiful than I expected.
