How did Mom & Dad meet? We met at Starbucks. :)  (we LOVE coffee!!) We were both regulars and kept running into each other.

How did you tell family and friends you were expecting? For family: We bought them MSU and LSU onesies :)  Frank went to MSU and Bethany’s family are huge LSU fans.  For our friends: We posted a photo on social media with 3 Starbucks cups: venti, grande, and a shot glass size and wrote “Baby Haynes brewing now” June 2016.

What was the best, most surprising or most difficult thing being pregnant? The best part was being able to feel her and hearing her heart beat for the first time.

 

Did you find out the gender beforehand? What were both Mom and Dad’s reactions. We did!! We were thrilled!  Frank had already been hoping for a girl.  We wanted a healthy baby either way. :)

List the possible baby names, and how you narrowed it down? We knew from the start that Liora was going to be her name.  We love the meaning.  “God’s gift of light to us”

Did baby look a lot like Mom, Dad or other siblings? Did you have fun with comparing baby photos? Her hair was a huge surprise for both of us!  We think she looks more like Frank from the lips down and like Bethany from the nose up.

What were Mom’s first thoughts when she saw her baby? And Dad? Frank: she’s beautiful and she’s FINALLY here!  Bethany: she’s mine :)…WOW! That HAIR!!!

What have the first few weeks at home with baby been like?  Amazing.  We can’t imagine life without her now.  Every late night feeding, diaper change, and chaotic bath has been worth it.  We are so grateful to the Lord for our “little light”.  The separation of one body into two lives is utterly amazing and a miracle!  The “invasion” of Liora has been one of the richest blessings the Father has given us.
